The indie supergroup known as Boygenius made their Chicago debut earlier this week in a two night run at Thalia Hall in Pilsen, and treated everyone to a beautifully unique performance. Although Boygenius only has 6 songs, each member played a full set, with Julien Baker headlining. Then, all 3 returned to stage to perform the album in full. It was kind of a perfect scenario actually. Imagine being fans of 3 artists, seeing them all in the same night and then seing them perform together as a “supergroup” for an encore. And then on top of that, imagine that the album they released just so happens to be one of the year’s best. That’s exactly what went down, and luckily enough we were on hand to snap a few photos.
