Better Oblivion Community Center @ Lincoln Hall [PHOTOS]
After surprise releasing their debut collaborative album back in January, Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst are currently in the midst of their first tour as Better Oblivion Community Center. They rolled through Chicago this weekend with back-to-back nights at Lincoln Hall, and the shows were something to behold. Opening duties were handled by the eloquent Christian Lee Hutson, followed by Chicago’s own Lala lala. By the time Bridgers and Oberst took the stage, the energy in the sold out room was palpable. The duo performed every song on the record, as well as pulling from their respective catalogs, and even treating fans to a Replacement’s cover. The chemistry between them on stage was so noticeable, and made watching even the moments in between songs rather enjoyable. The performance was fun, weird, cathartic, and lft me feeling like I might have joined a cult in the best possible way. We were fortunate enough to snap a few photos from day 2, which you can check out below and in the gallery!
