Blink-182 bring out Matt Skiba & Stephen Egerton in Triumphant Return to Riot Fest
blink-182 had a couple of surprises in store as they headlined day one of Riot Fest 2025 on Friday (9/19). They brought out Alkaline Trio‘s Matt Skiba to join them on their Skiba-era favorite “Bored to Death” (something they’ve done a few times now, most recently at the Los Angeles wildfire relief benefit back in February). Later in the set, they had another guest, Stephen Egerton of Descendents, join them for their cover of Descendents’ “Hope.” That song returned to their setlists in August (as they began their Missionary Impossible Tour) for the first time since 2003, but this was the first time they’d had Egerton join them on it, and Mark Hoppus called it a “bucket list” item.
Alkaline Trio also played Riot Fest earlier on Friday, where they performed Maybe I’ll Catch Fire in full, including the first performances of “Keep ‘Em Coming,” “Sleepyhead,” and “5-3-10-4” since 2015.
