Rise Against Share Reimagined Version of "Voices Off Camera"
Rise Against have released an unexpectedly visceral new version of a very old song. "Voices Off Camera" was originally released on their sophomore record, Revolutions Per Minute (2003). As you may or may not remember, Rise Against was a pretty incredible punk band that often blurred the line into hardcore. They were so goddamn good. Since then, they've drifted more towards radio rock, which is cool for some people but not really my thing. But I digress. Well they just released a cover from that era, with more to come. Ghost Note Symphonies, Vol. 1 is an upcoming compilation record by Rise Against that will feature covers from the band's entire catalog. The songs are reimagined using mainly piano and orchestral instruments, which is a pretty bold contrast compared to the bands usual musical style. I give them huge props for putting out a different project like this and am really interested to hear the full album when it arrives on July 27th. You can pre-order the record here, and check out the new version of "Voices Off Camera" (as well as the original for comparrison) below!
