Julien Baker @ House of Vans [PHOTOS]

The second installment of the “Vans House Parties'“ kicked off a couple weeks ago, bringing another incredibly strong lineup to the Chicago venue. Julien Baker curated an incredible lineup with Wye Oak and Macseal handling opening duties. Both artists delivered very strong sets and it was so great to see the audience turn out so early in the night to support the opening acts. The scene was set perfectly by the time Baker hit the stage, easing into her set with “Appointments” and followed by the ever emotional “Turn Out The Lights” (which was an early crown favorite). Although her music might seem mellow on the surface, it has a way of commanding the attention of the entire room. And she seemed to have it in her control the whole night. The set pulled entirely from her only 2 solo albums, Turn Out The Lights and Sprained Ankle, with the exception of “Funeral Pyre” which seemed to be another one that really connected. It was an incredible night of performances and another home run for the ‘Vans House Parties’ series. Check out photos from the night below!
