Anderson .Paak @ House of Vans [PHOTOS]

Last week, Oxnard’s own, Anderson .Paak stopped by the House of Vans in Chicago for what was undoubtedly the craziest “House Party” yet. This series has been bringing established artists to the intimate Chicago venue all summer and each show I’ve attended has been special. But this one was really special. It was arguably the craziest I’ve ever seen the place in terms of energy and anticipation. I overheard from multiple conversations throughout the night that reservations were gone in a matter of minutes and everyone understood how lucky they were to be present for what was bout to be an incredible show. And it turned out to be exactly that. Kadhja Bonet and The Free Nationals kicked things off with electrifying and soulful performances. And when Anderson finally took the stage the place was absolutely rowdy. He kicked off the set behind the drums with “Heart Don’t Stand a Chance” and “Saviers Road” before stepping out from the kit and over to the front of the stage where the crowd lost it for “Come Down”. It’s literally impossible to be in a band mood at an Anderson .Paak show. The positive energy was flowing the entire night as his signature wide grin seemingly never left. He seemed genuinely appreciative and happy to be performing for the House of Vans crowd, and it made the set that much more enjoyable. Not to mention the fact that he’s literally one of he best performers in the game right now. Check out some photos from the night below!
